Here is a simple, basic nothing fancy but very effective cutting board. These boards are made from 3/4″ thick solid piece of sugar maple. The total length from end of handle to the end of the cutting area is 14″. The workable length is approximately 10″ and approximately 9″ wide. Each handle has a hole for easy hanging off a hook for out of the way storage.  They can be finished with a food grade “Butcher Block” oil. Due to allergies etc. I do not finish the cutting boards unless requested at time of sale. The board may be slight oily upon receipt. We personally use 2 here at the house. One for cutting fresh foods that are to be eaten raw, and the other for cutting foods that needs to be cooked.

 I can make them in other woods that are local to area. Feel free to ask.

Cutting board – 7″ x 11″

Here are simple, basic, nothing fancy but very effective cutting boards. These board are made from approximately 3/4″ x 7″ x 11″ thick solid piece of non-toxic hard maple. There is no gluing with these boards, just a solid piece of maple from side to side and end to end.  It can be finish with a food grade “Butcher Block” oil, just send me a note when purchased. We personally use 2 here at the house. One for cutting fresh foods that are to be eaten raw, and the other for cutting foods that need to be cooked.

I can make them in other woods that are local to area. Feel free to ask.

Coffee Grinders – Canning/mason Jars – Natural Stain

Here is my reproductions of the mechanical grinders that some of our grandparents would have used with the exception that the grinding surfaces are made of ceramic. It is solid and functional, let alone aesthetically pleasing. It will also add that rustic touch, let alone make a great conversation piece. To me, you get to enjoy the coffee twice with one of these, once while you grind the coffee. The other when you drink the coffee. This is a burr grinder, which crushes the coffee bean, while others cut it.

The grinder itself is screwed on to a new Ball Mason canning jar. With this grinder I used a solid piece of white oak, finished with a  Jacobean stain and multiple coats of shellac, and finished with a wax and hand buffed. The overall height of this grinder is approximately 12” tall. For a smaller box to ship with, I removed the handle. The handle has to be removed to adjust the grinding and reinstalled.

The coasters have a little trivia about a tree that is displayed on the coaster.  You’ll find one the following trees in the coaster set; Birch, Cherry, Maple, Oak, Pine and Walnut.

The coaster themselves are made from 1/8” maple plywood and measure approximately 3 ¾” square. The base is made from approximately 3/8” solid maple and 4 dowels to hold the coasters in place and is approximately 4  ½” square, with a total height of 1 ¼”. The coasters and base are finished with a couple coats of Danish oil.  

Each coaster set contains 6 coasters and one base. 

Kitchen Conversion Chart

Here is a measurement chart that will make a great addition to your kitchen. You can easily figure out how many tsp/TBSP/oz are in a 1/6 of a cup to a full cup etc. The chart measures  approximately 3 3/4”, made from 1/16” plywood, laser engraved and finished with shellac. A magnet securely holds it in place on your frig for easy reference. A great addition to your frig art.

Here’s a classic French rolling pin. With a approximately 6” flat surface in the middle of the pin and tapering to the ends. This pin will glide over your pastry dough, flattening the middle of you dough with ease. It is made from a solid piece of maple that was harvest locally, sand to a very smooth finish. I do not put a finish on it. I can upon your request, finish the pin with butcher block oil.

Please note: The diameter of the center and ends are approximate. Slight variation will occur. The approximate diameter of the rolling pins is 1 1/2” – 1 5/8” tampering down to the ends which are 1”. The overall approximate length of the rolling pin is 22” – 22 1/8” Also the picture I have is just a representative on the one I’ll ship to you. The wood grains, texture and possibly color will vary but it will be made from maple.
